I was diagnosed with breast cancer 16 July 2008, and went through the whole range of yucky treatments.  There is a new diagnosis of breast cancer every 3 minutes and a life lost every 14 minutes - shocking statistics!

On October 2, 2008, one week before the start of chemo, I went to a Women Beyond Cancer retreat.  I spent the weekend with some incredible women and we had a blast.  T a k e   a   l o o k …

On May 3, 2009, Renee,  Susan,  Irene,  Jean,  Emily  &  I  took  part   in the  7th  annual  Avon  Walk   for   Breast  Cancer  &  raised  an  incredible $13,523  between us.      Despite the weather, we walked 26 miles (except Renee who just couldn’t stop & walked 39 miles!).   It was a fabulous weekend & we were proud to have been part of raising $6.8 million for breast cancer.    Special thanks to my walking partner & friend, Sophie.    T a k e a   l o o k   …

Carolyn would have been chuffed to have this page dedicated to her.

The 30-year-old son of the minister at my church, who co-presided at my hushband’s service, was diagnosed about 6 months ago with a very aggressive form of lymphona. They thought after his chemo that he might have it beat. But they just learned that it has spread to his brain! My God! I know it is terrible to lose a spouse but can only imagine how terrible it must be to have your child go through this. Complicated by her need to back away and give his new wife primacy.

that is very sad. unfortunately there are too many stories like that and i fear a cure would mean such a financial loss to the pharmaceutical companies that there will be no cure!

This from the beautiful GJ: “Still struggling with some pain & fatigue. My former neighbor is 107 years old & says the secret is to “pace yourself”. But I feel if I were moving any slower I’d be going backwards!” — we love you!

and best wishes to Bob with his upcoming ‘stuff’ going on!

the greatest gift we can give ourselves and those around us is time. one of my favourite quotes..(and i have loads!)…“the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. they must be felt with the heart”.

The snow that has hit the DC has offered me a quiet respite from the noise and drive of life. My whole being is drinking it up with gusto. It’s amazing how healing true quiet can be.
