Suzanne’s teaching style is a union of different influences; the precise postural alignment in physical asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and therapy of Iyengar Yoga; the movement and flow of Vinyasa Krama; the strength and sequences of Ashtanga and many other styles in order to obtain the best possible practice for each student.
Having studied with many different teachers and styles, both in England and the U.S.A., Suzanne has a natural ability to adapt postures to suit each individual’s capability and teach pranayama and meditation according to the requirements of the individual or class.

*) The Surrey Iyengar Institute was founded by Ruth & John White, who were taught & certified by BKS Iyengar. During Suzanne’s training period the center was renamed ‘Karuna’. Although the teachings are completely in the style of BKS Iyengar, with some adaptations made to postures, Iyengar gave his blessing to continue teaching but not to call the center Iyengar. BKS Iyengar is still the President of Karuna Yoga.
